The Ministry of Housing has jurisdiction over the housing sector in the Sultanate of Oman, covering the following areas: preparation of studies, researches and plans necessary for urban planning; preparation of detailed maps of planned areas; giving ownership of land to various citizen according to the government land entitlement regulations; allocation of lands required by the administrative system of the State; granting the usufruct right of lands; representation of the Sultanate in regional and international conferences and meetings; working on human resource development in the ministry; and any other functions established under the laws and Royal decrees. |

The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) was established by Royal Decree in January 1993 and is today managed by CEO, and a Board of Directors chaired by HE Oman’s Minister of Commerce and Industry.
PEIE also works closely with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Oman Chamber of Commerce, Omani Centre for Investment Promotion and Export Development (OCIPED), permitting and regulatory organizations, utility providers and others to develop the partnerships that assures business success. Moreover, it assists companies in assembling sites, developing buildings, facilitating permitting, assessing infrastructure needs, reviewing incentives available for projects as well as helping firms market and promote their products.
